| タイトル | The Moral Education Aspects of Education for Sustainable Development: A Study of Methods of Moral Learning in Modern Japan |
| 内容 | 2015年3月、文部科学省は道徳教育の教科化を決定した。現行の学習指導要領では、それぞれの教科でも道徳教育を行うべきであるという考えが記されている。しかし、現在の道徳教育はこれを充たせていない。また、文部科学省は「持続可能な開発のための教育(ESD)」も積極的に実行している。ESDは、環境教育や国際教育、多様性の教育などの様々なグローバルなテーマを含んでいる。しかし、日本では主に環境教育として注目される傾向があり、ESDの道徳教育的な側面はまだ研究されていない。本研究では、ESDの道徳教育的な側面を明らかにするために、ESDの実践例を現在日本の小学校で行われている道徳教育と比較し、考察する。比較を通してESDと道徳教育の目標や学習スタイルにいくつかの類似点があることが分かった。この結果はESDが道徳性の教育を行える可能性を含んでいることを表している。 |
| 講評 | It was a pleasure to work with these students in writing their graduation theses. While all the topics were connected in some way to "globalization, education, and culture," the specific themes of their theses covered several continents, numerous cultures, and an array of challenging issues and questions. My hope is that the students not only found satisfaction in deepening their understanding of their chosen topics, but that they also enjoyed the learning process of researching their topics, critically reading their sources, formulating and organizing their arguments, and eventually writing their papers. Finally, and most importantly, my greatest hope is that the camaraderie and friendship formed through this process will endure, remaining as the ultimate legacy of their years of study. |
